Ozan Co.

Ozan Company was established on September 7, 1969. Since 2010, the Martyr Dr. Faghihi Factory, which was originally established in 1987 and engaged in the production of dental amalgam, has been incorporated into the company’s scope of activities.

The production unit currently manufactures two main product groups: amalgam powder and amalcap. The amalcap products are manufactured and marketed in two series: Sinalox (1-, 2-, 3-, and 5-unit types) and Sina Silver (1-, 2-, and 3-unit types).

In the field of imports, the company is considered an active international player. In the previous year, the company conducted approximately USD 40 million worth of imports related to medical equipment and pharmaceutical raw materials, and achieved the equivalent of IRR 4 billion in unofficial exports, through rial-based sales of amalgam powder to Afghanistan.

Since 2017, the sale and use of amalgam powder in the domestic Iranian market—similar to restrictions in certain European countries—has been prohibited. Given that the production of powder-based materials is unavoidable for the manufacture of amalcap products, and that their sale remains feasible in most countries, the company has, over recent years, been compelled to recover the silver contained in powder products and return it to the raw material and production cycle. This process has imposed additional recovery costs on the company, over and above standard production expenses.

For this reason, exporting manufactured products—particularly amalgam powder—has become one of the company’s key objectives, and the company is proceeding accordingly in line with this document. This document has been prepared for the period 2021–2023 and is subject to annual review based on environmental and market analyses.
